M.Sc. Henrik Johansson and M.Sc. Mattias Levin, doctoral students at the Department of Immunotechnology, were both awarded with presentation prizes at the 30th Congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology held in Istanbul, Turkey.

A consortium, which includes the Dept. of Immunotechnology, has been recommended to receive 64 MSEK during 2010-2014, for a project entitled "BioCARE - Biomarkers in Cancer Medicine Improving Health Care, Education and Innovation" as part of the government's allocation of resources to strategic research areas.

The Dept. of Immunotechnology was formed after a merger of the Division of Immunotechnology (formerly at the Department of Chemistry) and the Division of Protein Technology (formerly at the Department of Electrical Measurements).

Prof. Carl Borrebaeck of the Dept. of Immunotechnology has been granted the annual reward by the independent Research!Sweden (Forska!Sverige) Foundation for his research in medicine and his entrepreneurship.

Grant from Swedish Research Council to Professor Peter James
Prof. Peter James was awarded 3.2 MSEK by the Swedish Research Council for a project entitled Analysis of post-translational modifications of membrane proteins.

Dr. Christer Wingren of the Dept. of Immunotechnology is a partner in the new Phast-ID project supported by a grant from the EU 7th framework programme that will develop a photonic crystal-based disposable biosensor for use in point-of-care diagnostic applications.
