Assoc. Prof. Malin Lindstedt of the Dept. of Immunotechnology was today awarded a grant of 6 MSEK from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research for a project entitled Prediction of sensibilisation by a cell-based assay system.

Prof. Mats Ohlin was awarded the distinction of Excellent Teaching Practitioner by the Lund School of Technology and he was accepted as member of the School's Pedagogic Academy.

The head of the Dept. of Immunotechnology, Prof. Carl Borrebaeck, was appointed Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Lund University. He will focus on the University's innovation strategies.

Assoc. Prof. Malin Lindstedt was awarded 2 MSEK from VINNOVA for a project to investigate a cell based assay system for prediction of allergenicity.

Assoc. Prof Christer Wingren has been granted support (5 MSEK) by the Swedish Research Council for a project entitled "Molecular profiling of systemic lupus erythematosus for better differential diagnosis and prognosis".

The head of the Dept. of Immunotechnology, Prof. Carl Borrebaeck, was awarded the AkzoNobel Science Award Sweden 2009 for his groundbreaking translational research and its transfer into practical use.

Dr. Fredrik Levander has been appointed Associate Professor (docent) at the Department of Immunotechnology.

MSc Andy Forreryd of the Dept. of Immunotechnology won 4500 sek for best free oral presentation at the SSCT-Swetox workshop with his presentation entitled Prediction of chemical respiratory sensitizers using GARD, a novel in vitro assay based on a genomic biomarker signature.

The Faculty of Technology at Lund University will fund a postdoctoral position within the area of RNA sequencing-assisted quantitative proteomics. The project will be hosted in the computational proteomics group headed by Assoc. Prof. Fredrik Levander.
