Angelica Johansson, under supervision of Prof. Sara Ek, has successfully defended her PhD thesis: Biological and Psychosocial Axes of Lymphoma Outcome: From Tumor Microenvironmental Profiling to Patient-Reported Determinants.

The interdisciplinary work included both advanced omics analysis of patient samples and self-reported psychological investigations including psychological resilience. The understanding of the tumor microenvironment of B cell lymphoma patients led to the key finding that CD8+ PD1+ rich microenvironment predicted higher overall patient survival.
